A rich and moist purple velvet cake with a creamy frosting.
Ingrédients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup purple food coloring
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, blend sugar and oil until smooth.
- Add eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla. Mix well.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients. Mix in food coloring.
- Pour batter into prepared pans.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cakes cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks.
- Frost with cream cheese frosting once cooled.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
- Can be made a day ahead.
- Use gel food coloring for a more vibrant color.
