Ingrédients
- Turkey – 1 whole (12-14 lbs)
- Butter – 1 cup
- Garlic – 4 cloves, minced
- Sage – 1 tablespoon, dried
- Thyme – 1 tablespoon, dried
- Salt – to taste
- Pepper – to taste
- Stuffing – 1 box (for turkey)
- Green beans – 1 lb
- Cranberries – 12 oz, fresh
- Potatoes – 5 lbs
- Heavy cream – 1 cup
- Gravy – 2 cups
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C).
- Prepare the turkey by rubbing it with butter, garlic, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Stuff the turkey with stuffing.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and cover with foil.
- Roast the turkey for about 3-4 hours, removing the foil in the last hour.
- While the turkey is roasting, boil the potatoes until tender.
- Drain and mash the potatoes, adding heavy cream, salt, and pepper.
- Steam the green beans until bright green.
- Prepare the cranberry sauce by simmering cranberries with sugar and water until they burst.
- Make the gravy using the turkey drippings.
- Carve the turkey and serve with sides.
Notes
- Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
- Adjust seasoning to taste.
- Prepare sides while the turkey is cooking.
