A classic comfort dish made with thinly sliced potatoes, creamy sauce, and cheese.

- 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Grease a baking dish with butter.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes at the bottom of the dish.
- In a saucepan, heat heavy cream and garlic until warm.
- Pour half of the cream over the first layer of potatoes.
- Sprinkle half of the cheddar and Parmesan cheeses over the cream.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, cream, and cheeses.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil.
- Bake for 45 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use a mandoline for even potato slices.
- For extra flavor, add herbs like thyme or rosemary.
- Let the dish sit for a while for easier serving.
