Smoky fried green tomatoes served with fresh salsa.
Ingrédients

- 4 green tomatoes, sliced
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
- 1 lime, juiced
Instructions
- Slice the green tomatoes and set aside.
- In a bowl, mix cornmeal, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Dip each tomato slice in buttermilk, then coat with the cornmeal mixture.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Fry tomato slices until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- In a separate bowl, combine diced tomatoes, onion, cilantro, and lime juice for salsa.
- Serve fried tomatoes hot with fresh salsa on top.

- Use firm green tomatoes for best results.
