A traditional Southern Thanksgiving feast featuring classic dishes.
Ingrédients
- Turkey – 1 whole (12-14 lbs)
- Butter – 1 cup
- Salt – 2 tablespoons
- Pepper – 1 tablespoon
- Garlic powder – 1 tablespoon
- Onion powder – 1 tablespoon
- Chicken broth – 4 cups
- Green beans – 2 lbs
- Corn – 2 cans
- Stuffing mix – 1 box
- Cranberry sauce – 2 cans
- Pumpkin pie – 1 (store-bought or homemade)
- Biscuits – 1 batch
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Prepare the turkey by rubbing it with butter, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and add chicken broth.
- Roast the turkey for about 3 hours, basting every 30 minutes.
- While the turkey cooks, prepare the stuffing according to package instructions.
- Cook green beans and corn in boiling water for 5-7 minutes.
- Warm the cranberry sauce in a small pot.
- Prepare biscuits according to recipe or package instructions.
- Once the turkey reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C), remove it from the oven.
- Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
- Serve all dishes with pumpkin pie for dessert.
Notes
- Brine the turkey overnight for extra flavor.
- Use fresh herbs for stuffing if available.
- Make sure to save turkey drippings for gravy.
