A traditional Southern Thanksgiving menu featuring classic dishes.
Ingrédients
- Turkey – 1 whole (12-14 lbs)
- Butter – 1 cup
- Salt – 2 tablespoons
- Pepper – 1 tablespoon
- Garlic powder – 1 tablespoon
- Onion powder – 1 tablespoon
- Stuffing – 1 box (14 oz)
- Green beans – 2 lbs
- Olive oil – 2 tablespoons
- Sweet potatoes – 4 large
- Marshmallows – 1 cup
- Cranberry sauce – 2 cups
- Pumpkin pie – 1 whole
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F.
- Prepare the turkey by seasoning with butter, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Stuff the turkey with stuffing mix.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and cover with foil.
- Roast for 3-4 hours, removing the foil for the last hour.
- Boil sweet potatoes until tender, then mash and top with marshmallows.
- Trim and sauté green beans in olive oil.
- Serve cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie as sides.
Notes
- Let the turkey rest for 30 minutes before carving.
- Adjust cooking time based on the weight of the turkey.
- You can make the stuffing a day ahead.
