A festive strawberry shortcake perfect for Christmas celebrations.
Ingrédients

- 2 cups strawberries, sliced
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Mix strawberries with sugar and let sit for 30 minutes.
- In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until creamy.
- Add flour mixture and milk to the butter mixture. Mix until smooth.
- Pour batter into a greased cake pan.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden.
- Allow cake to cool, then slice in half horizontally.
- Whip the cream with vanilla until stiff peaks form.
- Layer strawberries and whipped cream between the cake layers.
- Top with more strawberries and cream.
Notes
- Best served chilled.
- Can substitute strawberries with other berries.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
