  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix strawberries with 1/4 cup sugar and let sit.
  3. In a bowl, combine flour, 1/4 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Add butter, milk, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
  5. Pour batter into greased cake pan.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden.
  7. Whip heavy cream with sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.
  8. Once the cake cools, slice it in half.
  9. Layer strawberries and cream between cake halves.
  10. Top with remaining strawberries and cream.

  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
