  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 tablespoon dried sage
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. In a skillet, melt butter and sauté onion and celery until soft.
  3. In a large bowl, combine bread cubes, sautéed vegetables, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  4. Gradually add chicken broth until the stuffing is moist but not soggy.
  5. Stuff the turkey cavity with the mixture.
  6. Place the turkey in a roasting pan and cover with foil.
  7. Roast for about 3-4 hours, removing foil for the last hour to brown the skin.
  8. Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (74°C).
