Description
A classic Thanksgiving dessert featuring a flaky crust and a sweet apple filling.
Ingrédients

- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter, chilled and diced
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 6 to 8 tablespoons ice water
- 6 to 8 apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt.
- Add butter and mix until crumbly.
- Stir in ice water until dough forms.
- Roll out half the dough and place in a pie pan.
- In another bowl, mix apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, and lemon juice.
- Pour apple mixture into the crust.
- Roll out the remaining dough and cover the pie.
- Seal and cut slits in the top crust.
- Bake for 15 minutes at 425°F, then reduce to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 35-45 minutes.
Notes
- Use a mix of sweet and tart apples for best flavor.
- Let the pie cool before serving.
- Serve with vanilla ice cream if desired.
