- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

- Food coloring (optional)
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for buttercream)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract; mix well.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
- Chill the dough for 30 minutes.
- Roll out the dough and cut into desired shapes.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
- Let cookies cool completely.
- For buttercream, beat butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla.
- Decorate cookies with buttercream as desired.
Notes
- Store cookies in an airtight container.
- You can use different food colors for decorating.
- These cookies can be made a day in advance.
