Ingrédients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  3. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  4. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  6. Stir in pumpkin puree and vanilla extract.
  7. Alternate adding flour mixture and buttermilk to the butter mixture, starting and ending with flour.
  8. Pour batter into prepared pans.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Let cool in pans for 10 minutes, then turn out onto wire racks to cool completely.
