Ingrédients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter, chilled
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 6 to 8 tablespoons ice water
- 4 cups sliced apples
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt.
- Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in ice water, a tablespoon at a time, until dough forms.
- Divide dough in half, shape into discs, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Roll out one disc and fit it into a pie pan.
- In another bowl, toss apples with lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, and cornstarch.
- Pour apple mixture into the pie crust.
- Roll out the second disc and place it over the filling. Seal edges.
- Cut slits in the top crust for steam to escape.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool before serving.
Notes
- Use a mix of apples for better flavor.
- Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
