- 1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs)
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups stuffing mix
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp dried sage
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Prepare the stuffing by sautéing onion and celery in butter.
- Mix in stuffing mix, broth, salt, pepper, thyme, and sage.
- Stuff the turkey with the mixture.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and rub with softened butter.
- Roast for 3-4 hours, basting occasionally.
- Check the internal temperature to reach 165°F (75°C).
- Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
Notes
- Choose a free-range turkey for better flavor.
- Make sure to remove the giblets before cooking.
- Use a meat thermometer for accurate cooking.
