  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
  • 1 lemon, quartered
  • 1 onion, quartered
  • 4 cups chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Remove the turkey giblets and pat the turkey dry.
  3. In a bowl, mix butter, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, rosemary, and thyme.
  4. Rub the butter mixture all over the turkey.
  5. Stuff the turkey cavity with lemon, onion, and any remaining herbs.
  6. Place the turkey in a roasting pan and pour chicken broth into the bottom.
  7. Cover the turkey with foil and roast for about 2.5 to 3 hours.
  8. Remove the foil for the last hour to allow the skin to brown.
  9. Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (74°C).
  10. Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
