A delicious main dish perfect for Thanksgiving.

- 1 whole turkey (12–14 pounds)
- 2 cups vegetable broth
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon dried thyme
- 1 tablespoon sage
- 1 lemon, quartered
- 1 onion, quartered
- 3 cups stuffing mixture
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Prepare the turkey by removing the giblets and rinsing it under cold water.
- Pat the turkey dry with paper towels.
- In a bowl, mix the butter, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, and sage.
- Rub the butter mixture under the skin and over the turkey.
- Stuff the cavity with lemon, onion, and stuffing mixture.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and pour vegetable broth into the pan.
- Cover the turkey with foil and roast for 2-3 hours.
- Remove the foil and roast for an additional 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
Notes
- Let the turkey rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.
- Use the drippings to make gravy.
- This recipe can be adapted for different stuffing flavors.
