Ingrédients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, chilled and diced
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 6 to 8 tablespoons ice water
  • 4 cups fresh apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt.
  3. Add butter and mix until crumbly.
  4. Stir in ice water, one tablespoon at a time, until dough forms.
  5. Roll out half the dough and place in a pie pan.
  6. In another bowl, combine apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
  7. Pour apple mixture into the pie crust.
  8. Roll out the second half of the dough to cover the pie.
  9. Seal the edges and cut slits in the top crust.
  10. Bake for 15 minutes, then reduce heat to 350°F (175°C) and bake for another 30-35 minutes.

Notes

  • Let the pie cool before serving.
  • Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
