  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 2 cups bread crumbs
  • 1 tbsp dried sage
  • 1 tbsp dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Prepare the turkey by removing the giblets and patting it dry.
  3. In a skillet, melt butter and sauté onions and celery until soft.
  4. Add sage, thyme, salt, and pepper to the skillet and mix well.
  5. Combine the sautéed vegetables with bread crumbs in a bowl.
  6. Stuff the turkey with the bread mixture.
  7. Place the turkey in a roasting pan and pour chicken broth over it.
  8. Cover with foil and roast for 2-3 hours, basting occasionally.
  9. Remove foil during the last hour to brown the skin.
  10. Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (75°C).
  11. Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.

Notes

  • Make sure the turkey is fully thawed before cooking.
  • You can prepare the stuffing a day in advance.
  • Save the drippings for gravy.
