  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups diced onion
  • 2 cups diced celery
  • 2 cups diced carrots
  • 4 cups bread cubes
  • 1 tablespoon dried sage
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. In a large pot, melt butter and sauté onions, celery, and carrots until soft.
  3. Stir in bread cubes, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add chicken broth and mix well to combine.
  5. Stuff turkey with the mixture.
  6. Place turkey in a roasting pan and cover with foil.
  7. Roast for 2.5 to 3 hours, basting every hour.
  8. Remove foil for the last 30 minutes to brown the skin.
  9. Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
