Description
A classic Thanksgiving roast with tender turkey and flavorful stuffing.

- 1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs)
- 2 cups bread crumbs
- 1 cup diced onion
- 1 cup diced celery
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 tablespoon dried sage
- 1 tablespoon dried thyme
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 4 cups chicken broth
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
- In a skillet, melt butter and sauté onions and celery until soft.
- Add the bread crumbs, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper to the skillet.
- Mix in chicken broth until the mixture is moist.
- Stuff the turkey with the bread mixture.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and cover with foil.
- Roast for 3-4 hours, basting occasionally.
- Remove the foil for the last 30 minutes to brown the skin.
- Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (75°C).
- Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
