Description
Delicious smoked turkey for Thanksgiving.
Ingrédients

- 1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs)
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 2 cups wood chips (hickory or apple)
Instructions
- Prepare the turkey by removing the giblets and patting it dry.
- Rub the turkey with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Soak the wood chips in water for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the smoker to 225°F.
- Place the soaked wood chips in the smoker box.
- Put the turkey in the smoker and close the lid.
- Smoke the turkey for about 30 minutes per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Remove the turkey and let it rest for 20 minutes before carving.
Notes
- Use a meat thermometer for accurate cooking.
- Brining the turkey overnight adds flavor.
- Experiment with different wood chips for unique flavors.
