Delicious and festive sugar cookies perfect for Thanksgiving.
Ingrédients

- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- Food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
- In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until smooth.
- Beat in egg and vanilla extract.
- Gradually blend in dry ingredients.
- Roll dough into balls and place on baking sheets.
- Flatten each ball slightly with the bottom of a glass.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until edges are light golden.
- Allow cookies to cool on wire racks.
- In a separate bowl, mix powdered sugar, milk, and food coloring to make icing.
- Decorate cooled cookies with icing as desired.
Notes
- Store cookies in an airtight container.
- Use different cookie cutters for various shapes.
- Let icing dry completely before stacking cookies.
