  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • Garlic cloves

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Remove the turkey giblets and rinse the turkey inside and out.
  3. Pat the turkey dry with paper towels.
  4. Rub the softened butter all over the turkey.
  5. Season with salt and pepper, inside and out.
  6. Stuff the cavity with onion, carrots, celery, garlic, and herbs.
  7. Place the turkey on a rack in a roasting pan.
  8. Pour chicken broth into the bottom of the pan.
  9. Cover the turkey with foil and roast for 2.5 to 3 hours.
  10. Remove the foil and roast for an additional 30 minutes to brown the skin.
  11. Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (75°C).
  12. Let the turkey rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.

  • Use a meat thermometer for accurate cooking.
