Description

A classic Italian dessert made with coffee-soaked ladyfingers and mascarpone cheese.


Ingrédients

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 1/4 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup brewed coffee, cooled
  • 1/4 cup coffee liqueur (optional)
  • 24 ladyfingers
  • Cocoa powder for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk egg yolks and sugar until pale.
  2. Heat milk in a saucepan, then slowly whisk into the egg mixture.
  3. Cook over low heat until thickened, stirring constantly.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool.
  5. In another bowl, whip heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
  6. Fold mascarpone into the cooled egg mixture.
  7. Gently fold in whipped cream.
  8. Combine coffee and liqueur in a shallow dish.
  9. Quickly dip ladyfingers into the coffee mixture.
  10. Layer dipped ladyfingers in a dish and spread a layer of mascarpone mixture on top.
  11. Repeat layers, finishing with mascarpone mixture.
  12. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
  13. Dust with cocoa powder before serving.

  • Use strong coffee for better flavor.
