Description
A classic Italian dessert made with coffee-soaked ladyfingers and mascarpone cheese.
Ingrédients

- 6 egg yolks
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1 1/4 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup mascarpone cheese
- 1 cup brewed coffee, cooled
- 1/4 cup coffee liqueur (optional)
- 24 ladyfingers
- Cocoa powder for dusting
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk egg yolks and sugar until pale.
- Heat milk in a saucepan, then slowly whisk into the egg mixture.
- Cook over low heat until thickened, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat and let cool.
- In another bowl, whip heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
- Fold mascarpone into the cooled egg mixture.
- Gently fold in whipped cream.
- Combine coffee and liqueur in a shallow dish.
- Quickly dip ladyfingers into the coffee mixture.
- Layer dipped ladyfingers in a dish and spread a layer of mascarpone mixture on top.
- Repeat layers, finishing with mascarpone mixture.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
- Dust with cocoa powder before serving.
Notes
- Use strong coffee for better flavor.
- Chill overnight for best results.
- Adjust sweetness to taste.
