Description
A layered dessert with sponge cake, custard, fruit, and whipped cream.
Ingrédients

- 1 pound sponge cake, cubed
- 2 cups mixed berries
- 2 cups vanilla custard
- 2 cups whipped cream
- 1/2 cup sherry or fruit juice (optional)
Instructions
- Layer half of the sponge cake in a large trifle dish.
- Drizzle half of the sherry or juice over the cake.
- Add half of the custard over the cake.
- Add half of the mixed berries.
- Layer half of the whipped cream on top.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.

- Make it a day ahead for improved taste.
- Can substitute sponge cake with ladyfingers or cookies.
