Ingrédients

  • 1 whole turkey (1214 lbs)
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 4 cups vegetable broth
  • 2 onions, quartered
  • 4 carrots, chopped
  • 4 celery stalks, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon dried rosemary

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Remove the turkey from the packaging and pat it dry with paper towels.
  3. Rub olive oil over the turkey and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Place the turkey in a roasting pan.
  5. Stuff the cavity with onions, carrots, and celery.
  6. Pour vegetable broth into the roasting pan.
  7. Sprinkle thyme and rosemary on top of the turkey.
  8. Cover the turkey with aluminum foil.
  9. Roast for about 3 hours, removing the foil for the last 30 minutes to brown the skin.
  10. Check the internal temperature, it should reach 165°F (74°C).
  11. Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
