Description
A hearty soup made with white beans and ham hock.
Ingrédients

- 1 pound white beans
- 1 ham hock
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, diced
- 2 celery stalks, diced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 6 cups chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Soak the white beans overnight in water.
- Drain and rinse the beans.
- In a large pot, add the ham hock, beans, onion, carrots, celery, garlic, and chicken broth.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours.
- Remove the ham hock and let it cool.
- Shred the meat from the ham hock and return it to the pot.
- Add thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
- Simmer for an additional 15 minutes.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- Adjust seasoning to your taste.
- Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Freezes well for later use.
