Ingrédients
- Almond flour – 2 cups
- Powdered sugar – 2 cups
- Egg whites – 4 large
- Granulated sugar – 1 cup
- Vanilla extract – 1 teaspoon
- Food coloring – pink and red
- Butter – 1 cup (for filling)
- Heavy cream – 1/2 cup (for filling)
- Chocolate – 1 cup (for filling)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- In a bowl, mix almond flour and powdered sugar.
- Whip egg whites until frothy, then gradually add granulated sugar and continue whipping until stiff peaks form.
- Fold the almond mixture into the egg whites gently.
- Add vanilla extract and food coloring, mix until combined.
- Pipe small circles onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Let the macarons sit for 30 minutes to form a skin.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until they have risen and are firm.
- Let cool before filling with chocolate ganache made from butter, cream, and chocolate.
- Sandwich the macarons and let them rest for a few hours before serving.
