Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, cream together butter and sugar.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla, mix well.
  4. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
  6. Add milk and mix until smooth.
  7. Divide batter and add red food coloring to one half.
  8. Pour the colored batter into a greased baking pan.
  9. Layer with the plain batter.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  11. Let it cool and top with whipped cream.
