Delicious candy apples perfect for Valentine’s Day.

- 6 apples
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Red food coloring
- Wooden sticks
- Optional: sprinkles
Instructions
- Wash and dry the apples.
- Insert wooden sticks into the apples.
- In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, and corn syrup.
- Cook over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
- Increase heat and boil without stirring until mixture reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).
- Remove from heat, add vanilla and food coloring.
- Dip each apple into the candy mixture, coating evenly.
- Place on wax paper to cool.
- If desired, sprinkle with toppings before the coating sets.
Notes
- Use tart apples for contrast with the sweet coating.
- Be careful with hot sugar syrup.
- Store in a cool place to maintain freshness.
