Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Mix in milk and vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, combine flour and baking powder.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
- Divide the batter into two bowls; tint one green.
- Pour the batters into the prepared pans.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes. Cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
- Once cooled, stack the cakes and frost with green icing.
- Decorate with fondant to create a football and use gel icing for details.
