Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F.
  2. In a bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
  3. Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes.
  5. Divide the dough into small pieces and roll them into rods.

  7. Submerge each pretzel rod in the boiling water for 30 seconds.
  8. Place the rods on a baking sheet and brush with beaten egg.
  9. Sprinkle coarse salt on top.
