- 1 tablespoon ground ginger
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed

- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Royal icing for decoration
- Assorted candies for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, ginger, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat butter and brown sugar until smooth.
- Add molasses, egg, and vanilla to the butter mixture. Mix well.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Mix until combined.
- Roll out the dough to 1/4 inch thick and cut into shapes for the house.
- Place the pieces on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes.
- Let cool completely before assembling the house.
- Use royal icing to assemble and decorate the gingerbread house with candies.
