Ingrédients

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cornmeal
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine corn kernels, flour, cornmeal, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together milk and egg.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix well.
  4. Fold in chopped green onions.
  5. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil.
  7. Fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
  8. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Notes

  • Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
  • Leftover fritters can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
